FAQ
General Info
Temperament & Lifestyle Fit
What makes Maltese dogs a good choice?
Maltese are intelligent, affectionate, and loyal. They don’t shed, and they’re typically a good fit for people with allergies. They’re small, adaptable, and bond closely with their owners. They thrive in calm, consistent households where someone is home most of the day.
What kind of homes are you looking for?
We want these puppies to go to people who are home most of the day. Retirees, remote workers, and seniors tend to be a great fit. These dogs are highly bonded and miss you when you’re gone.
How can I learn more?
Visit our other pages to see past litters, learn more about Maltese temperament and care, and contact us with any questions.
Are Maltese dogs good with children?
- We don’t place puppies in homes with toddlers. Maltese are delicate and do best in quieter environments. Families with older, respectful children may be a fit on a case-by-case basis.
Do Maltese dogs bark a lot?
- They will bark if someone comes to the door, but they’re not yappy for no reason. They’re alert and protective of their space.
Do Maltese dogs need a lot of exercise?
They enjoy walks, but they don’t require long ones. They’ll play when they’re on the floor, and cuddle when they’re in your arms. They adjust their energy to match yours.
Our Puppies
Care & Grooming
Do you allow home visits or video calls?
Yes. If you’re local, you can visit. If not, we can do video calls so you can meet the puppies and ask questions.
What support do you offer after adoption?
We’re happy to answer questions at any point. We also provide a care package, an adoption certificate, and records of the puppy’s vaccinations and health check.
What kind of grooming do Maltese dogs need?
Unless you’re planning to show your dog, most people keep Maltese in a short “puppy cut.” You can groom them at home or take them to a groomer every few months. They don’t shed, but brushing helps reduce tangling.
How are the Maltese puppies raised?
At home, with their mother, in a safe and loving environment. They’re socialized with people and other dogs. We don’t use kennels or cages. They’re exposed to household routines and sounds so they’re ready for their next home.
How is this different from buying from a breeder or pet store?
This is not a high-volume breeding operation. We only have occasional litters, and they’re raised in our home—not in a kennel or back room. The puppies receive one-on-one care and attention every day. We stay in touch with many of our past buyers.
What comes with the Maltese puppy?
- First round of vaccinations
- Vet health check
- Adoption certificate
- Small care package with items to ease the transition
